The Robbery Task Force was organized in March 1981 to combat the violent robberies that were occurring at that time.
The Robbery Task Force consists of two Leon County Sheriff's Office Detectives and two Tallahassee Police Department investigators. They work together out of a common office, currently at the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
The unit performs their duties so effectively that the Sheriff and Chief of Police have kept the unit together since it's inception.
