Lobby Doors Open:
  8:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.

  Visitation Hours:
  Monday through Sunday 7-days per week from:
  9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
  No visitation from 4:00 p.m. through 5:30 p.m.

 Visitation Rules:

  • Visitors are allowed to visit one inmate per day. This visit is for 30-minutes only per inmate each day.
  • A current picture identification is required (no expired Identification will be accepted).
  • All picture identification must include your date of birth. No school ID's allowed, unless it lists date of birth.
  • All visitors must be 16 years of age to visit.
  Dress Code:

Authorized Attire: Blouses and dresses with sleeves, skirts and dresses with length to knee, loose-fitting slacks/jeans and shorts to the knees or below.

Unauthorized Attire: See-through attire, open throat/midriff blouses or tops; sleeveless blouses, no half length or partial length shirts or dresses (tops must have sleeves before adding jacket), braless attire, skirts with side split above knees, shorts above knees, overalls of any type and no form fitting attire (tights, bike shorts, etc.).

 Rules of Visitation:

  • All visitors must clear the metal detector in order to visit.
  • All visitors must be 16 years of age or older to visit.
  • There are no split time visits. All visits are for 30-minute increments only.
  • You can not visit two inmates in the same Housing POD on the same day.
  • You can only visit one inmate per day.
  • You can only visit the inmate that you have signed in to see.
  • No profanity will be tolerated during any visits.
  • No cell phones allowed.
  • No communicating with any INMATES in or around the Jail in accordance with Florida Statue 951.22 .
  • Children under the age of 16 years old are not allowed on the premises without an adult or someone 16 years old.
  • You can not leave any child or children unattended in the Jail Lobby or your car. Any such violation will result in the visitation being cancelled. You may not leave your child or children with strangers.
  • Personal keys are the only items allowed in the Visitation Area. No bags or purses are allowed beyond the secured areas (metal detectors). We have provided lockers for your usage. These lockers require 25 cents to operate.
  • During Jail Visitation, the Leon County Sheriff's Office will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items while on our premises.
  • At no time will a visitor be allowed to visit under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance.

 Out of Town Visitors:
  You are required to conform to our set forth Visitation Rules and Dress Code policy outlined above.

 Inmate Mail:
  All incoming mail will be inspected for contraband. The following items will be returned to sender:

  • Stained with powder, perfume, glue or glitter.
  • Envelopes with tape or stickers.
  • Mail from other Jails or Prison Institutions, unless approved by both Institutions.
  • Note pads.
  • Greeting cards larger than 5" by 7".
  • Paper, envelopes, pencils, pens or stamps.
  • Music lyrics.
  • Cell phones.
Books and Subscriptions:
 All books and subscriptions must be soft backed and come directly from a publisher or book store. No hardback books or books containing staples will be accepted. Books and subscriptions must be paid for in advance and can not contain any nudity, profanity or advocate violence/hatred toward any individual, organization, religion or nation. Books and subscriptions can not contain instructions for the manufacturing of explosives, weapons, drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcoholic beverages, escapes paraphernalia, or to affect and/or facilitate an escape. Inmates may have a total of five (5) books per shipping order and are only allowed five (5) books in their possession at any given time.

 Pictures:

  • May be sent through the mail.
  • Inmates are allowed to have five (5) pictures.
  • Once the inmate is at their limit there are No Exchanges.
  • We will not accept pictures with nudity or sexually explicit material.
  • No Polaroid pictures accepted.

 Medication & Prescriptions:
  You may drop off the following list of items at the Jail, however you will be required to fill-out a form prior to leaving:

  • Prescription eyeglasses
  • Prescribed contact lenses
  • Solutions for contacts (Must be sealed, the tamper label can not be broken in any way)
  • Medications from current Prescription must be cleared by medical staff only.

 Telephones:

  • We have provided for your usage a Pay-Phone located in the Visitation Lobby waiting area.
  • All calls from the Jail will be collect from the inmate.
  • We do not take or give inmates messages, unless there is a family emergency (critical condition in the hospital or death).
  • If you wish to have your telephone number blocked to prevent collect calls or have the block removed from your telephone you must come to the Jail Visitation Lobby and present valid picture identification and ownership of the telephone number or call 1-800-844-6591.
  • Collect phone calls from inmates are subject to be monitored and/or recorded.

 Religious Materials:

  • We will allow you to drop off Bibles, Koran, Torahs-soft covers only and prayer rugs.
  • All items will be searched for contraband.

Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.
